First egg covered in yolk

Hello, I'm new here - first time posting, but I've been a lurker for a while. We got our first chickens (white leghorns) when they were a day old back in April, all pullets. Our first eggs started last week just from one of the chickens. Today I discovered a second chicken had laid her first egg. I noticed one of them wasn't with the others so went searching for her and found her alone with a new egg, still warm. It was covered in egg yolk and had just a tiny streak of dried blood on it. The other chicken's eggs haven't been covered in egg yolk. Is this somewhat common for a first-time egg or is it something I should be concerned about? She doesn't seem to be in any distress.

Thanks for your input!

I'm not there to witness what happened but she could of layed the perfect hard shelled egg first & laid the egg that was next in line too early . You never know she's new to the laying game. I've never witnessed this but I've seen some strange eggs & when their new at laying anything seems possible. I have seen some eggs with blood on them when they first start laying. I would say give her time & she will probably be a pro sooner than you think.

She ran off and hid, laying her egg in an area outside of the coop where none of the others had been, so I don't think it was a broken egg from another. They are free-ranging during the day, but I'm keeping them in the coop more as of today until the hang of laying in their boxes like the first one has been doing.

I hope it's just that she laid the next one too early! Should I keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't have problems (I've read some scary stuff about egg yolk issues) - or is this likely just a new layer thing for her?

Thank you for your help!

Okay, an update - this pullet is ill now. :( She laid an egg just fine yesterday and today - making two normal eggs since her first one that was covered in yolk. Now she is ill after laying her egg this morning. She was acting fine before this morning.

I've posted another thread in a different forum regarding this situation: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/700867/please-help-pullet-acting-strange-after-laying

but I was hoping I might also find some help here since I'm not sure if it's related to egg laying and possible egg yolk peritonitis or something else. Is it even possible to get EYP when they first start laying? I'm also wondering about coccidiosis after reading some things.
