I went to close up the coop for the night and found a smaller pinkish brown egg.

Very excited but not sure which one laid it. I have a Barred Rock, Buff Orpington and an EE. Any guesses???

I heard a trick that you can use - apply different color lipsticks to each butt... the telltale color will tell you.

I haven't tried it... did one of the hens sing the egg song?

Congratz. I would put my money on the EE, I have a BO and she lays dark brown eggs and a EE who lays pinkish brown eggs.

It's been raining so hard I didn't hear a thing!

Cooper is the EE and she's my special girl. (don't tell the others). I was hoping for a nice green/blue one from her. Guess once the other two start laying I may find out.

Congrats! My BO lays a pinkish brown egg or tan egg. Are the legs of your EE blue? I heard that means you have a better chance of the blue/green eggs. I'm new to chickens, so perhaps that is not accurate information, but I remember reading that somewhere...

Yes, my EE's legs are blue/slate gray colored. I had high hopes...but I'll love her eggs no matter what color. I'll keep you posted.

I have 4 EEs, 3 with slate legs, one with yellow legs. The yellow-legged one lays blue eggs. The blk/wh hen with slate legs lays brown- go figure. The other two lay blue aeggs, although one of them is more green.

Out of my 4 EE's...2 lay blue, 1 lays green and the other lays a pinkish tan. But right now, one is getting over being broody, the other is broody, so I'm only getting 1 blue and the pinkish tan.
