FIRST Egg for Hubby's bday!!!

Our girls were 6 mos old this weekend and they left our first eggs for my Hubby's bday Sunday!!! We have 2 black Australorps and 1 Black Jersey Giant and we don't know who did what, but there was 2 soft shell eggs and 1 perfect little brown egg! What a great present for hubby!!!

This morning one was singing the "Egg Song" VERY loudly while one of the others was nesting in our poop tray. :/ In a few, there was another perfect brown egg! Any ideas on how to keep them quiet? We live in a neighborhood and we are trying to fly under the radar here! our immediate neighbors know, but she was singing so LOUD I'm sure the whole block heard it! She must have been proud of her sister!!!

Congrats!! First eggs are the best and just in time for DH's birthday too. If they continue like this you can make him a nice omelet for his birthday breakfast. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do to shut a hen up when she's laying. Or her sisters when they decide to join in! Maybe you could bribe your neighbours with some eggs?

congrats! mine started laying two weeks ago its so egg citing! I love getting her eggs every other day on my bird. she gave me one a few minutes ago! still exciting! enjoy
