First egg-second egg!!

First egg was Monday, small one—then this morning!! I am amazed!!

yes, they are... I have never had a jump in the size like this before...

It isn't that uncommon with new layers till they get their plumbing worked out.
What is uncommon is for first time layers to produce huge single yolk eggs from the start. I've had 2 pullets like that.

just feel like updating... my sweet little mutt has laid 5 consecutive eggs!! very first egg Jan 1st, skipped the 2nd and has laid every day since! Today was the first "normal" size egg so hopefully she is settling in. not expecting the trend to stay this heavy, but pleasantly surprised!

Looks like she's an olive egger or Easter egger. She'll likely lay at that great pace till fall when she'll molt and take a break.
