First egg....small????

We just got our first on Monday. Second today from the same hen and it was already larger than the first. Hens were 21 weeks on Monday. NH Red was the pool winner.

I have a 16 week old pullet that sits on the ceramic eggs. The others are free loading 17 week olds. (Insert fingers crossed emoji not available on the phone app)

I have been getting a egg a day, and today's was bigger!!!

When should the other hens start laying???

Should I keep the golf balls in the boxes for the other hens?

They get bigger. I have 5 chickens and 3 of them are laying and still waiting for the other two. It's so exciting. They are about 5 months old now and every time they lay I swear its a little bit bigger.

This is our first ever egg, laid by our Silver Laced Wyandotte, Salt (19 weeks), yesterday afternoon. We are so excited! Since it is so little, should we eat it? My son wants to keep it as trophy or something... ;-)

That's awesome! My Australorp is 18 wks tomorrow. She started squatting 2 days ago. I keep checking the boxes.
