I found this on the ground. Four month old chickens, is this an egg?

earlier today I heard an egg song, and our rsl (I've heard they lay at four months) has it all over her fluffy butt. No free ranging tomorrow so if she lays again we won't have to search very far

As your hen is so young, and even though they may be known to lay early, it looks like she may have laid a shell-less egg (I don't see any shell in the pic at all). New layers will lay some strange eggs at times. She is most likely just getting her egg laying system into gear and you will see some odd eggs...here's a page with more explanation as to the why's:
