First Egg Today! Funny Pic

So my SLW laid her first egg today. It's about time, as she was hatched towards the end of April.

I suspected it was time today because she kept going into and out of the nesting boxes today. I hung around and watched, hoping to see it happen.

Unfortunately, she kicked out all of her bedding, so when she finally did lay the egg, the bottom cracked a little.

So, immediately after she laid the egg, Mabel, one of our EE rushed into the same box. The poor, SLW looked so confused. I got a picture of that.

It was the pointy end that hit first, and it barely cracked so that the membrane isn't punctured or anything. Nothing is leaking out. I figure it's ok to eat, but it probably should be eaten tomorrow.
