I got my first egg today from my sexlink. She was acting weird all morning. She would be out with the others and then would go into the nesting box. She did that a few times. Then the last time the rooster stayed in their with her. She was up in one nesting box and he was in the one next to her. I thought that was kind of odd behavior for him to stay in there with her and not be out with the other hens. Is it? Well after a few minutes of cackling she dropped one. I am so excited. I took it right away. Does that mean she will drop again tommarrow. Well thanks for your help. [IMG]

yeah! today was a first egg day for us too! yeah for us!

our rooster was hanging out with her in the box! maybe he was coaching and reminding her to do her 'breathing'![IMG]

I wish I could hear what this egg laying cackle sounds like, because my hens aren't laying yet..... This morning they made some funny sounds, but I think it was just canada geese flying over head....
