First Egg!

So today we got our first egg. A few months ago we found out we had a rooster. My question is can I leave my eggs on the counter, even if they are fertilized? I have read a little bit about this and have seen many different opinion. What do you think?

Fertilized eggs require several days of consistent 100 F or 38 C to begin forming an embryo. Your eggs, at room temp, are in no danger of developing chicks.
