That's a good idea. Wish me luck, one of our Easter eggers is hard to catch.

Just make that one your 'plain' egg, and color the others.

congrats on the 1st egg. How old is the oldest hen? You say one was about 2...
I thought they had to be much older and have squatting behavior to lay.

Congrats!! My 2EE's just started laying as well. One is laying greenish blue the other pink. I've several frozen cracked eggs--dang cold spell-- and 2, one of each color, that had soft shells. I'm thinking this is normal when they start laying. I do have oyster shells in the coop and will switch to layer feed once my roo is re-homed. I can't keep the roo and friend is taking him in the near future.
