First Egg!!

First time chicken mom and just got my very first egg! Have raised my baby girls since they were a day old and I am so proud! Is it going to be like this everyday for the rest of my life?? I sure hope so!!

Mine would skip a day then lay then skip again and usually by the second or third skip they would lay one a day... dunno what I'll do with 9 large eggs a day.

Congrats on your first egg it is very special, I called mine my $1,000 egg.

Soooo happy for you!!! I just got my first egg about 4 weeks ago so I can still remember how great the day was.

Mine laid 3 days and then needed a day off at first. But now she's laying more frequently.

Congratulations on that first egg!! It's very exciting. It really depends on the breed of the chickens. I have sex links and they all lay an egg just about everyday. I think one of them may be a slacker occasionally.

Brilliant.
My chicks hatched in the kitchen last year so I’ve been collecting eggs for about 2/3 weeks now and it NEVER gets old! That feeling when I lift the hatch and there’s a couple of eggs to take in!

Congrats! The first egg is always so egg-citing. I got mine after WEEKS of checking the nesting box like 10 times a day! Yay!!!!

Congrats on the first egg!
I remember the first egg we ever got. It was laid by our Buff Orpington Popcorn.
It was dropped accidentally soon after we took a picture.
