I’m a new chicken mom. I raised my 8 girls in our bathtub until they were big enough to move out to their coop - yes, I have a very understanding husband! They are all Rhode Island Reds and are about 20 weeks old. One of the girls started laying last Friday and she has produced an egg everyday day since. Was just wondering when the rest of the ladies might get the idea...

Could be any day now or a couple months from now. There's no rhyme or reason for when they start. You just have to look for the signs to figure out who will be next. The comb and waddles growth, the redness, the squatting!
Two of mine have been laying for a few weeks now, I'm still waiting for the other four to get the picture.

Four of them have nice combs and waddles and squat like crazy! Guess it could be any time now...

Congratulations!!!
First eggs are always exciting you almost breath a sigh of relief!
Be patient momma the girls will lay when the the’re ready!!! The the REAL drama begins wait till you have a yard full of hens singing the “egg” song. Too funny
Lol! And the daily Easter egg hunt! She’s not very consistent on where she lays them
