First Egg

So it finally happened! One of my girls payed her first egg. Question is, do I take the egg out now or leave it in there for a few hours? So the other ladies see it in the nesting box's. This is my first flock of egg laying ladies.

Congratulations on your first egg. I'd take it out. You might want to purchase some ceramic 'nest eggs'.

I poked holes on both ends of my first egg and blew out the insides and put it back in the nest box. After two weeks or so it was broken and eaten but it lasted king enough to show everyone where to lay their eggs. A ceramic egg, ping pong ball, Easter egg, or golf ball are probably better options.

Congrats on your first egg!!!! Every egg is eggciting but the first is always the best.
