Our first egg was laid this morning by my girl, Iris. Happy day!! She laid it perfectly in a big ol’ pile of poop. 🤔 Is this a Normal thing to do when they’re new to laying? Since I built my coop (and am new to chickens) I get worried that what I have isn’t adequate. There are 3 Nesting boxes that are 12x12” and filled with straw. Also since it was covered in poop I washed it in warm water only can I still eat it? Haha
(I placed it in the fridge since I read that washing them removes the bloom). any tips would be appreciated. Regardless, I’m over the moon that my girls are finally laying.
