First Egg!

My Light Brahma pullets just turned 21 weeks and you won't believe it but one actually laid her first egg! I never expected it at such a young age. We only have Light Brahmas so there's no doubt it was one. And we just finished the best boxes a week ago. Talk about the nick of time.

Is it at all possible that the addition of a very busy Light Brahma cockerel added 10 days ago stimulated her enough if she was on the brink anyway? I haven't read anything that suggests that but...

As expected, it's smaller than a normal Brahma egg.

My hens do lay more when they have a rooster, but that's just my personal experience. There is no science to back that up.

Congratulations! Aren't first eggs magical? I got mine two weeks ago. I blew out the shell to save it, and smile every time I see it.
