I’m sure these posts get old but I got my very first egg yesterday! Myself and three of my friends all got chickens this year (I finally bought my first house last fall) and mine were the only ones that hadn’t laid yet.

I’m pretty sure it was one of my Silver Laced Wyandottes. She’s got a very bright comb and waddle and has been squatting/passed the butt bone width test for about two weeks. Two of my Jersey Giants are also squatting but I know they tend to mature slower. All six of these girls are all 20 weeks old to the day.

Even more egg-citing is that the egg was laid in the nesting box even though I still have yet to put fake eggs in it!View attachment 2319678

Congratulations!!! I remember the very first egg that I ever collected, I´m not sure if you found it where they were supposed to lay or not but if you need help getting them to lay in the right spot then I will publish something on my account about it.
