Songster
We have our first egg! It’s small, but oh so beautiful! We scoured through coop cam footage to find the girl, sweet Honey (not who our bets were on but she had begun acting strange the past few days non-stop talking and then getting into a mounting position every time I went into the run at night to fill water and look things over)…we watched her on the playback in the nesting box while her sisters seemed to cheer her on from the coop floor and then the kiddos gave her a special treat of garden carrots and strawberries! We also noticed that the feathers near her neckline have a beautiful shiny gold color today! We’d love them no matter what, but this is such a blessing! Our girls are 4 months old now (17 weeks on Wed.) so this is the first of many “firsts”! Only other chicken people would understand our excitement so we had to share!
