I know there are multiple posts out there, but……we got our first egg today!!!! I’m so excited!!! I’m shocked by how big it is!!

Yay!!! I’m so happy for you! The first egg is always special. Who is the lucky lady to lay such a prize?

I wish I could say with certainty, but alas, I was not there when it happened and of course, she did not lay in the nesting boxes. Hopefully, that will not be the trend going forward. If I had to venture a guess, I would say it came from one of my 18-week RIR gals. Several of them have very red combs/wattles and have been squatting anytime I reach to pet them.
