hi, I am a new person to the chickens and I am so happy that I started to raise them. I have a question on how to store the eggs ? Do I wash them or not ? Do I put them in the frig.? I got my first egg today and i am so happy .can you help me ? thanks alot

I rinse my eggs off if they have poo/feathers/dirt on them, and just stick them in the fridge if we don't eat them right away. There are other ways to store eggs, but the easy way is to store them just like you would eggs from the grocery store.

I agree with the previous advice. Best of luck to you.

welcome,
If you have specific questions you should try too post them in the proper categories and you will get a much better responce.
we personally do not wash our eggs, if it is dirty we wipe it with a damp paper towel or napkin. the egg shell is permiable and if you use soap it should be a food grade detergant (edible) in case any is absobed through the shell. we also do not refridgerate our eggs. we consume them at a fast enough rate that they are only in a basket on the counter for a few days at most. If you are not going to use them up by about 10 days. then refridgeration is the way to go. and if you get the urge to hatch any of your eggs then you should not refridgerate those eggs.

Best of luck.
