My Domonique just laid her first egg:: I know it is fertile, I was told the first egg is usually sort of rubbery, should she be allowed to sit and try to hatch the first one? HELP

When they first start laying, the eggs will be small. For best results, wait a few months until the girls work out all the kinks before you start hatching from their eggs. You will get healthier chicks if you wait.
