I just have to share. We were out giving our first chickens (four of them)crickets that I had purchased at Pet Smart. Our grey Ameracauna, Bernice, looked like she was straining. I picked up her back feathers to make sure her vent was not stopped up. I was scared that I had caused a big problem with the crickets, and an egg dropped out! What a joy, and it was so warm. Our problem, the egg has a really soft shell. I had read that this can happen. Should we keep it? Can we eat it? Should we wash it and put it in the frig? Thanks for the help. I feel like a new mom!
