To my surprise, we have eggs!
We are so excited to have our first eggs. And there's THREE!
I have three leghorns, one barred rock, and one barred rock rooster that were born in May.
They laid them all together and in a nest box like good girls!
I never thought I'd get three at once!

Can we eat these eggs?

Well good for you and your chickens. Welcome to the world of chickens and eggs.
Not sure how many chickens you have but understand their will be up's and downs with egg production, so learn as you go forward. Congrats!!!!

That's awesome. My current flock of birds were born the end of May, and I"m anxiously waiting for them to start laying. Heck yeah you can eat them. You only get first eggs one time. Enjoy your eggs, and if no one's told you yet:

Congrats! I got my very first chicken egg yesterday too., from my 17-20 wk old sexlink. Such an exciting feeling. Hubby wanted to eat it right away but I just need some time to adore it first! Lol

I have a quest for you all.
I have a rooster in the bunch, How can I be sure not to crack open a baby chick?
Will refrigeration alone prevent this? I've heard otherwise.
