I am so happy!! My two new pullets, acquired in Sept. (one RIR and one NH Red) have begun to lay!!! I actually had two eggs in one day. BTW I only have three chickens, and my great little OEG bantam hen is on her hiatus between laying cycles. Also FYI to any other newbies, there is a book called "Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens" that is a great resource! I got started with the "Dummies", and I still use it, but this book has a lot of great information.

I have 9 older layers, and 4 pullets. the last 4 days, I got 3 half eggs, is the best way to describe them. They are eggs alright, but only about half the size of the eggs my EEs lay.

I got my bantams in Sept also and they stared laying 2 weeks ago. I get 5 on most days now. I posted the pics 10 minutes ago.

Pullet eggs have yucky things hidden in them. I don't like surprises but I love scrambled eggs with no little eyes or yuck in them. I waste a lot of eggs due to the meaty thingys in them. Fun to find though
