First eggs, one huge

Yeah! My Easter Egger, Helga, just laid her first egg! I guess you'd call the color olive drab. I'm so excited because almost a year ago I told my boys we were going to have chickens that layed blue or green eggs and now we finally do. It took this long because of preditors that took our first chicks, then the easter eggers we got next layed white eggs.

So, this spring we got two more EEs to try again. I've been on pins and needles for about two weeks to see what color their eggs will be. Now, one down and one to go.
