First eggs, then none...

Hey, I have a new flock 4 girls (2 leghorns and 2 black sexlinx) I'm new to the chicken thing, and I got 3 little eggs this last week! I was so excited, but now nothing... I did take them out cuz I was so excited. Do i need to have fake eggs for them to start up again? (A friend said to just use a golf ball..) they are 24ish weeks old.

Are they free range ?
They may be hiding their eggs somewhere. Put a golf ball in the nest and see if they lay there tomorrow!

They aren't free range. I have had a golf ball in there for 24 hours now

Mine were not consistent about laying at first. One of my black sex links laid her first egg, then waited 5 days before laying another one. Then she had several soft shell eggs. Keep checking!

I only have two hens, same age. One laid four days ago, and nothing from either since. I put two plastic eggs in this morning. They saw me. Should I sneak them in?

I put mine in with the chickens watching. One came over and looked it over.
