All the ducks I raised this summer are too young to lay eggs yet - but I did buy a few older pairs of call ducks. Also on Saturday I went to an animal auction and bought 3 -1 drake and 2 hens- Cayugas. I stayed for the whole auction and didn't get home until after dark, well I rearranged one of my pens to make room for the 3 Cayugas and when I went out to check on them Sunday morning I had two eggs! WOW was I excited! But it didn't stop there, when I went over to my call duck pen, I had two eggs in there also. I got 4 eggs in one day, before that I never had gotten an egg. I thought I would have to wait until next spring before I would get any. But since then, I get 2 eggs a day from the Cayugas and most days I get an egg from my calls.
I haven't put them in the incubator yet but I will within a couple days. Hopefully, I will have babies in October!
