First Eggs!

Our Silkie hen layed her first egg today.
There were 2 eggs under her. And about 10 minutes later she layed a third. We're these all from today? Or had she laid some before today and we didn't notice. She was running around with the other chickens yesterday. It was just today we noticed that she wasn't hanging out with the others.
How many eggs can a silkie lay a day?

From everything I've read about it on here, they can only lay one a day. I would think she has been laying for a few days and your just now discovering the eggs.

I don't know if it was just a coincidence but Wednesday was their first day in their big run. Before the were in the coop all the time. We'd let them out to wander once a week or so. Now they spend all day in the big run. There is 4 so they have a lot of room now. And she starts laying eggs.

Thank you! I just couldn't bear the idea of them stuck in a small coop all the time. And there is a feral cat colony of about 20 that live on my Court, so free ranging scared me too. This seemed like a good compromise.
