We found our 1st eggs today. We have 3 pullets that are 22 weeks old tomorrow. Today we found 4 very small eggs in the nesting boxes. They are all similar in size and color. Is it more likely that they are all from the same chicken or is it possible that all 3 hens started laying on the same day? We had not been checking the boxes every day because I thought they would probably have to be shown where/what they were. The boxes are raised a few feet off the floor of the coop. I was checking the floor in the shavings & never saw anything. My husband thinks he looked in the boxes within the last few days. Here are a few pictures of the eggs including a comparison with a supermarket egg.

Are your three pullets all the same breed? The eggs look very similar so they are probably from the same bird. Congratulations!

No they are 3 different mixed breeds. Here is a picture of them from a few months ago. I suspect it is from the smallest black chicken, but that is just an assumption.

Ok. I’d say they are from the same chicken then.
It’s common for eggs to start out small and get bigger they more they lay. That same chicken could be laying medium or large eggs by the end of the year, whichever one laid it.
