Got my first egg's yesterday, of course they were on the coop floor and not in the nest box. I was on the back deck and all the lady's were making a ruckus so I when to the coop to investigate. There was one hen setting in to corner of the coop, I stayed until she when outside so I could get the egg. When she got up there was four egg's, do think it's possible that she laid all four or do I have four hens that started laying on the same day. I have five Road Island Reds.

Either you have four hens that all strated laying in the same day.. Or you haver just missed them before .. Only one egg per per hen per day ... Congrats on the first eggs though.. Its always exciting

I just picked my FIRST egg and I am so excited and it was in the nesting box. I love it !!!

Yeah...isnt it great to get those first eggs! What color of brown was the eggs? I have 4 different breeds that lay brown eggs and i am trying to figure out if I have a RIR laying. The egg i found was super light brown.

We got our first egg yesterday......I was opening the door to the coop, kind of kicking some of the shavings back in when I looked down on the ground outside the coop and there it was....#1.....so when I went in, I looked around and stepped lightly.....hopefully there will be more 'firsts' today when we get home too.

It was a brown egg and I have no idea who laid it. I hav RIR - Australorps - Barred Rocks - White Rocks - Red and Black Star Sex-Link. So who knows but it is great and hopfully I will figure it out in a few days!!
