First eggs

Our barred rocks, Lucy and Ethel, started laying... not sure which one laid this first egg. You can read about their antics on my blog (PortlandPeeps.blogspot.com). They're living up to their namesakes.

Chickens are easiest to shoot under studio lights, they usually stand pretty still... well, most of the time.
