I am new to Bantams and due to a racoon a month ago i only have 1 siebright left. She is hanging with 2 Plymouth Barred Rocks girls that I got at the same time as my Bantams and is in the coop at night now with the flock of 39 assorted hens who are 14 months old. Now my questions for all you wise women... How big is a Bantam egg? What color? One of the chickens has been laying a small egg lately under one of my nesting boxes on the floor and it is about 2 inches long and light brown. All my girls but the Bantam girl (itty bitty) and my two barred rocks (my two Jennys) have been laying since last september. No one has laid a egg that small. My two Jennys and itty bitty are at the most 4 months old ...if. One more question about Barred Rock, what color eggs do they lay?
Thank you all so much for filling my time in the wee hours of the morning year round with interesting and funnier than all get out chicken stories. I dont know what i would do without you all. God Bless you and your flocks of beautiful faces .
