Congrats!!!! Very Cool Blue Eggs!! Sounds like your girls are kicking it into gear!! We got our first egg Saturday too, it was about the size of a grade large with a soft deformed shell and no eggs sinceYay! My Easter Eggers (Grace, Sally, and Breta, purchased March 7th) finally laid their first (very small) blue eggs - 2 of them - on Saturday, August 4th. Both were laid on top of the nesting boxes (broken). The next day my 3rd girl laid an undersized green egg in the nesting box, but it was so thin shelled it broke, too (looked as though she kicked it into the back of the box). Nothing yesterday. Today - another undersized blue egg! Not broken this time.
And I have so far found 7 eggs from my ducks (Dixie and Daisy) laid in various parts of my yard (they free range around the front 2+ acres). I wasn't expecting eggs from them - they aren't even 5 mos. old yet. I found one this morning next one of the chicken tractors (it wasn't there last night when I closed it up), one this evening next to the coop again, and another one of the ladies laid right in front of me - missing 1/3 of the shell, but the membrane was intact. The others were scattered across the back yard. I don't know if they are safe to eat - they've been out in 90 degree weather during the day and 60 degree nights. I don't think I'll chance eating them but I will be keeping a better eye out for them now.
