Im not sure what my breed is I have 4 white hens and 1 red one and one white and brown. I bought them at tractor supply. They are 15 weeks now.
Anyway my question is:
1. at what age did you get your first eggs?
2. Do your chickens free range?

No eggs here yet and mine free range during the day.

1. Hens will lay when they're ready. That can be 15 weeks to 30 weeks, depends on the bird.
2. No free ranging here. Yet.

You can take pictures and upload them to the 'Which breed or gender is this?' section. I'm sure someone can help you ID your hens.

Good luck

Hmm only one response?
Thank you for the welcome. I dont have any pictures here at work but I will do that. We have one hen that is our favorite we call her clara Bell she is the white and brown one and kind of the leader of the pack.

I let my chickens free range in the backyard all day and I send the kids outside every morning to check the whole backyard and coop for eggs. My oldest will be 18 weeks tomorrow and still no eggs.

From what I hear, 20 weeks is about average.
