Started with 55 Quail eggs, removed approx 10 due to not fertilized (clear when candled) to quitters by day 14 (some darker areas, but not like other eggs at that point). I built an incubator, temps were stable until about 5 days ago and then, for some reason, temps would climb, but since I was checking them frequently, higher temps were never there for long, and I had wired the bulb to a dimmer, so could quickly lower heat. Last night when I candled them, several had obvious movement within the egg. All were very dark with obvious air cells, even without movement apparent - but I didn't want them out of the incubator for too long, so I didn't linger with the candling. Hoping they are all viable eggs. Around day 17 or 18 is when they should hatch so wish me - a complete novice - and my Quail eggs good luck (I know some of you are certainly very experienced with hatching eggs)!

I'll probably attempt chicken eggs next year!

Agree with @tumnus they hardy I'm working on my third hatch(would have been another 100 but ups broke a ot this time -_-). I have 160 quail right now 1 batch 1 month old and the other 2 weeks and another 50 eggs in the bator.
:fl
Wishing the best!!
