First ever duck egg!!!

Im so eggcided! Got my first ever duck egg today. Someone must have laid it this morning but I didnt think to look and found it when I just went to feed and put everyone away. YAY now it feels like its all been worth it lol

Found another egg this morning. Im kinda wondering if somone has been laying and Im not finding them because the few that I have found have been really perfect with nice shells and a yolk and everything. Dont they usually lay a few weird eggs before they get really started?

Don't know. I will find out in a month or so when my youngsters start laying. I got a runner as an adult and she only laid a weird egg when I ran out of oyster shells.

Nope, mine all started by laying perfect eggs. Some were slower than others, and they started off maybe every other day in the beginning, but all were perfect! Congrats! Duck eggs are awesome!

I forgot to add the only weird egg I got was after a double yolker was laid. Didn't skip a day, but laid a very small egg, smaller than a chicken egg, sort of flat on one side, it did have a yolk though. Only happened once.

Bake with your duck eggs. You will immediately notice the difference in baking. More protein and they make things 'fluffier'.
