This might seem like a stupid/crazy question for some, but being new to this I wanted to make sure. I have five ladies that will be laying very soon for the first time, so when that time comes will the eggs be ok to eat? I have tried to research and haven’t gotten far. I mean of course if the eggs doesn’t look good to eat I won’t feed it to my family. Thank you and advice is helpful!!!

I ate the first egg I ever got...
I don't think it matters, as long as it's not obviously bad or odd. Most pullets' first eggs are really small, but you'll be fine:D

Sometimes even with older layers there can be meat spots or a bit of blood in the egg.

It can be a bit off putting. Once in a great while there is a bit more blood in the egg.
:sick

Since you are new and I am sure others are too I will share a bit of good advice.

Always crack the egg in a separate bowl so you can assess its insides.
If it looks odd or icky you haven't messed up a whole bowl of others or a bunch of ingredients in the mixing bowl.

First eggs are edible! They are the prize you have worked so hard for. Enjoy them!

Awesome thank you!!!!!

Don't be surprised if you get the occasional egg with a double yolk when they just start to lay. It's completely normal until they settle into their egg laying cycle and they are perfectly safe to eat.
