My two chinese geese reached a major milestone today! They both went airborne while running around this afternoon and got 4 inches (at the most) off the ground. Of course it wasnt for very long either, but It was so cool to see!

I've read that domestic geese are too heavy in comparison to their wild counterparts to go TOO high, I'm hoping that this is true.

I barely see mine even run let alone try and fly my boys 11 pounds. :$

My Embdens do this every morning when I let them out of their pen. They run like crazy, get about 2" off the ground, then plop! It is a wonderful thing to see. Geese are beautiful creatures with their wings spread as they try to fly. Hope it is a daily occurance for you too.
