First flock - ducklings and chicks

So we have 3 barred rock pullets, 3 ri red pullets, 3 st run yellow chicks.

We also had 2 snowy mallards, but lost one so we ended up with 6 khaki ducklings from TSC, and lost one of those as well :(

9 chickens & 1 duckling are 3 weeks old and 5 ducklings are 2 weeks old.

This our first time raising a flock and plan to raise the birds for meat and eggs.

So very sorry to hear of your losses :( :hugs

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you include your general location on your profile, this will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

Please do check out the Topic of the Week discussions Pork Pie mentioned. I have found these to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining. Some down the bottom of the page and duck specific.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
