First flock of Day-olds. Got any weird/old family tricks I could use?

Hey everyone my first 10 Orpington day-olds are coming home Tuesday. The brooder is set up and heating as we type. I've done a butt ton of research on feed, pasty butt, splayed leg, ect.

What I want to know is, do you have any weird advice or old family traditions that speed the little babies on their way to big beautiful birds? I want to do this right and often times the best advice is the weirdest of all!

I'm pretty sure there isnt anything you can do to speed up the process. Just time. Chicks grow pretty quickly though.
