This is my first flock and I started off with Bo's, RIR's and BR. As young chicks the BO's were always climbing on me and sitting on my shoulder. This didn't change. The RIR's were always a little standoffish but not aggressive. They are about the same now. The Barred Rock was standoffish at first but became more friendly as she got older. jumping up on my lap. I think BO's are friendly and beautiful. That's my experience for what it is worth.

My BOs are very gentle and calm. I have three young daughters (4, 9,12) and they are fine with being handled, even by little kids.
