Hello everyone,
I finally joined today, after a year of making excellent use of this site. We moved last year to a house with 3 hens about 4 years old and a coop and small run. The first thing we did was let them out. They did great, but they eat and dig everything, even styrofoam insulation! We love the eggs, and wanted some chicks, so we got 6 chicks and 6 guinea keets and last fall we integrated them and it went great. We did lose (yes, I had a favorite) my best girl, Jo-Jo to a hawk, but the others have been great. We love our flock and the reason I joined today is because some of them are really sick so I posted in the HELP ME section.
I have so many questions, but for now, I will say that 3 of the guineas turned out to be cocks, and we are trying to see if the hens'll sit on the billions of eggs they are laying! I think my husband might be sick of hearing me talk about my girls every day. I call the boys girls, too.
