I just recently had my first ever group of chicks hatch and I'm confused on how to identify them by color. They are a cross between a Buff Opington Roo and my hens are 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte and 1 Barred Rock. There eggs are almost the exactly same color so it's kind of hard to distinguish between the two. I have 4 chicks that have hatched so far: 3 blonde with small black marking on there heads and 1 that is solid black. I am still a newbie so I haven't learned very much about what colors they will be and so forth. I have read on the forum that the BO and BR cross should produce a sex link. Is this correct?? And if so, what colors will match match which sex?? Thanks in advance for any help.
