First Hatch:Confused

This is my first hatch and it is about hatch time for my eggs...this morning I woke up to little chicken peeping...I got up to see if any of the eggs hatched...none did and none of the eggs had cracks or holes in them...is this normal? And if it is does it mean the eggs are going to hatch soon?

If you heard peeping and no external pip. I think it means they pipped internally and probably stsrt hatching within the next 36 hours.

There are several on here that can but I'm not that experienced on candling so never have been able to.

I would say if none have pipped external take a look and see.

If the eggs are peeping, leave them be. Do not take them out of the incubator to candle them. That's the only way you'll see the internal pip. The thing is, since you can hear them you know it's happened, so there really is no reason to mess with them and look. The more you handle them the more chance you have for dropping one or doing other harm. When eggs are hatched by a broody, she does not constantly look at them or bother them when they're hatching. She just sits and waits and lets Nature take its course. She knows far better than we humans to how to hatch eggs.
