first hatch. Got a question

How long does it usually take after a chick starts cracking its egg until it is all the way out. I know it varies but, I was just curious about what the average is.

it is not unusual for them to pip ( make a little hole) before getting down to hatching. Do not help. there are blood vessels all along the inside of the egg. if you disrupt one the chick can bleed. also they can have unabsorbed yolks.

I've had some that hatch in an hour, others take a whole day. Best thing to do is sit back and watch, sitting on your hands!

This is my first hatch also; from what I hear, up to 24 hours after pipping
