I had 30 eggs, pulled 5 and left 3 or 4 that were questionable. Today is day 21. I had the first one hatch late last night and several with visa or external pips. woke up at 5am and had another hatch and now we are up to 10. I can’t believe how crazy they are moving around in there, should I be worried about how much they are knocking the others around? When do I start taking them out and at what point to I try and help the ones that have started to pip but not come out?!

If there are any external pips then don’t open the incubator. I try to leave the chicks til they’re fluffy. They won’t hurt the eggs when they play soccer 😂

Edited to add: if there are no external pips I would go ahead and remove them and place them under some heat. 10 is a lot in one incubator.

I’m using a little giant that was given to us that is supposed to hold like 40...although I don’t see how! I have several external pips right now so I don’t want to open! I just didn’t know at what point is too long with no progress.

I assist when they hit the 24+ hour mark. You've been given good advice.

Any idea what your ambient humidity is? I live somewhere where it's always pretty humid so I don't worry too much about opening the incubator even when there are external pips. I always make sure it's 75%+ humidity in the incubator as well to compensate, just in case I do need to open it.

Good luck with the rest of the hatch, and just so you know we love photos of cute little chicks. :D

my humidity is 75% when several were hatching earlier it was up around 78%.The windows in this thing stink for pictures but I sure will be taking some of these fluffy babies ASAP!!!! This has been such a great experience with my kids.

Well we have 20 baby chicks so far!!!! 4 more eggs are still in the incubator 2 have a pip but haven’t actually picked them up and checked them one the membrane isn’t broke and the other the beaks been poking out since later this morning but nothing more. I finally had the kids help assist me in quickly getting most of the chicks out. I left the 3 that weren’t all the way dry in. So many have hatched today Humidity was us to 80% and it dropped to 68% but went right back to 75%. What do you think of these two?
