The first of 11 eggs just hatched and this chick is smashing all the other eggs into the walls and into each other. Should I be worried? 5 others have ripped and 5 have not.

Nope, leave the baby be. The chick rolling the eggs around and chirping is a form of encouragement. If the chick is too rough, you may remove it out of the incubator into the brooder, but it is best to wait until all its fluff is dry and it has a buddy to hang out with.

The only time I'd intervene is if there's a chick who hatched too early and needs time to absorb its yolk. Then you place that chick in a cup so as to minimize any pecking, rolling or stepping by other hatched chicks.

Thanks. I've hatched a few times before, but this one is extra energetic. Hopefully it'll tire out soon.
