First hatching

We have just hatched our 1st chick, we are so excited. We just started raising chickens about 4 months ago, it is a cross between one of our rir hens and our bs rooster any ideas what color it will be right now it is yellow?

Thanks it was really a fun experience, we weren't sure it was going to work my husband made a homemade incuabator out of an old pop cooler, we had 1 hatch today and another one has started pipping, we only set 4 eggs.

Hard to determine color without knowing genetics of the BS rooster(it is a Black Sex-link, right?)

Yes it is a black sexlink rooster, its out of a rhode island red rooster and barred rock hen.

That is beyond my limited genetics knowledge, hopefully someone with WAY more experience will chime in on this. I would be curious to know possible outcome to expand my own knowledge.

Perhaps you could edit title of the thread to include color outcome question. That might help get the attention of the genetics folks.
