First hatchlings!

I decided to let my little silkie keep three eggs and yesterday two of them hatched! Mommy is being super attentive and taking good care of her little chicks. I'll let her keep the other egg a little while longer, just in case.

So anywho, if mommy is a white silkie and daddy is a mille fleur d'uccle, what do you think these little penguin looking guys will grow to resemble?

They will have fluffy legs, five toes (Not sure, if d’uccles have 5 toes then five for sure, if not four or five), not sure bout colors but right now they look like they’ll be black.

Probably normal feathers, the silkied gene is recessive.

Thanks for the input! I initially was going to get a couple silkie chicks so she would have pals to snuggle with since she doesn't roost like the other chickens do. She became broody shortly after, so I figured this may do the trick. I hope at least one of them picks up the habit, I get so sad seeing her sleeping alone while the others are all snuggled together on their roost.

The last chicks I had that were that colour ended up speckled similar to a miilefleur so I reckon thats the way they will go. They will have normal flat feathers once the chick fluff goes. I usually find silkie crosses get a mohawk type hair do which is really cute!

The third egg finally hatched sometime last night or this morning! And now we have triplets ❤
