Eeeeek!I just had to assist my EE in laying her first egg! I walked in and she was oddly settled down, her bum was all pushed out, egg and more! I gently assisted rotating the egg and helped her stretch a bit. Is she going to be ok?

She has suffered a prolapsed vent. Keep her vent area washed off and clean. The red tissue should be kept moist so that it does not dry out. Apply some honey or Preparation H to it, and try to push it inside, then hold it there for 10 minutes, while holding her in your lap. it may not go back in or it may come back out, but keep repeating this until it stays. The longer it stays out, the worse the swelling gets at first, so it may not go in easily. Keep it mosit at all times with whatever oil you have or honey, and the red tissue should stay healthy.
