However when we had a cold night I went out and they were all huddled up on the top roost. I have 3 roosts nowll 6 feet long at diiferent levels. But the Cinnimon Queens are sure the top ones.2 of them chase and pick on all the other ones. This is my first time with chickens so I am learning. Its worst than putting kids to bed at night. I most nights stay in the coop until they all settle in. I have 6 laying but the last four I got it took them 6 days to go out into the run so Iam thinking another week before I see any eggs from them if not spring. But they are settling in now. But I am glad my hubby doesn't have a video camera at night.
I used to watch my chickens all the time staring at their feathers, trying to figure out which ones were roosters. They would knock each other off the perch, the old broad would peck at the younger ones and they squawk! It's great entertainment. Now the Rooster tries to make unwanted advances on the pullets and the old broad pecks at him to stop it! It cracks me up!!!
